all of a sudden, seemingly without reason, my beardie is refusing veggies that just a day before she ate hungrily. the past week I have been feeding her cucumber, and her poo has changed to something like diarrhea. I tried giving her some orange pepper, which normally she loves, but after the first bite she was done. despite this being my first winter with her, I don't think it's brumation, because she is not showing any other signs (not hanging out in a secluded dark space, not sleeping extra hours, etc.) and furthermore she is perfectly willing to eat crickets, and ate them with much more hunger than she normally does (I could tell, she was ravenous). based off of this her appetite isn't going down, and she is extremely alert. the way she is acting is like she doesn't recognize these as food anymore, completely ignoring it when I hold it up to her during normal feeding hours. The only other things that has been strange about her is the diarrhea and a black beard she had yesterday. along with the black beard she seemed extremely jumpy. whenever I walked near her cage she basically flinched. her attitude is back to normal now, but she still refuses veggies.

basically, I'm at a complete loss as to whats going on, and because of that I'm getting worried. does anyone have any clue? because I am VERY confused.

(P.S. I didn't know if I should put this in feeding or behavior, so I just picked one, apologies if I picked wrong)

Their moods and appetites fluctuate quite a bit so I wouldn't worry too much. The watery poop is likely due to the high water content of the cucumber. I'd stop offering that for now. Here is a good list to reference for salad ideas http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html Try offering some greens for now like collards or turnip greens and see if that helps her stomach return to normal.

I did as you said, I kept her on crickets only for a few days till her poo looked normal, and now am reintroducing baby kale, which she ate. Her poo is looking normal again. Her mood has come back to normal as well. On this I am still confused, but i suppose I will just have to be satisfied with the fact that whatever it was that she was so upset about has been resolved. Thanks for the advice, I'm still new to owning a beardie, so I really appreciate your help!

Cucumbers can cause digestion upset. Ever eat a raw cucumber and burped for the rest of the night? It can also cause the loose stools. Likely indigestion...glad its resolved.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
