Hi guys,

It's around 12:25 A.M. here in Chicago. I'm probably worrying too much, but today is day 4 of owning my Bearded Dragon, Rigby. He is still getting acclimated as a 2 month old baby, so I understand things might be off for him, but he seems the be lethargic all of a sudden. He didn't really eat today. Maybe like 4 crickets. I offered him crickets 3 times today and he only ate those four this morning. He pooped, and he was hopping around earlier, but now he just seems tired.

I turned off his lamps for night time and turned on his ceramic heat emitter (with a dimmer. I read that I should get rid of my heat rock, so I returned it and bought a CHE with a dimmer) and took my branch that is typically placed under the lamp for his basking spot and put it near the CHE because his belly was cold when I picked him up. It's feels like it's been forever when it's probably only been an hour, and he hasn't moved. When I was messing with the dimmer on the CHE and made some noise around the cage, I got no response from him.

Maybe he's just tired, but I'm so scared that he's not gonna wake up in the morning. I tried doing all that I could, and all I can do is hope and pray that he'll wake up with a good appetite in the morning and that I can do more for him and hopefully he will eat a ton of his crickets.

I don't know if you guys believe in God or the power of prayer, but I sure as heck do. Please pray for my Bearded Dragon, Rigby, and please pray everything will be okay for him. If you don't believe in God or a higher power, please just send your thoughts and love! Thanks for reading this and I appreciate you.

Again, I am probably just worrying too much, but encouraging words (and not too much criticism) will be very helpful for me right now. If you have any suggestions on what I should do, please also comment. I need to sleep, and Rigby is probably doing that right now, so I will see all of this in a few hours.

Thanks guys.

Hey it's going to be ok. Bearded dragons need some time to adjust to their environment so they might not eat much during that time. It could take up to two weeks for them to adjust.

My bearded dragon will tend to get sleepy around 6:30 and want to cuddle and go to sleep around that time even though her lights don't turn off until 9 pm. She also looks like she doesn't move at night. Bearded dragons like to scare us.

I'll pray for you anyway :) it'll be ok I promise

Thank you so much!!

He is ok this morning. Still not eating but I trust that he'll be hungry soon and that he's still adjusting.

His lights are on a timer to turn on at 9 AM, and so I woke up at 10 to feed him. He's taking more interest in his mustard greens than any crickets or mealworms. He ate a ton of the mustard greens (misted with water and with calcium and vitamins sprinkled on it) but he won't eat crickets. He had like 3 small mealworms that I had to hand feed him since he wouldn't eat his crickets. I made another post earlier today about his refusal to eat crickets, I don't think it has any responses yet. I'm looking into getting him some Dubia roaches or silkworms or something that will give him variety! Little stinker won't eat. I'm about to try feeding him again since I've been out of the house for a few hours.

I have the Reptisun 10.0 UVB and the 100W Repti Basking Spot Lamp. I used to have a heat rock but heard those can burn babies' bellies, so I returned it and got a ceramic heat emitter made for a 40 gallon tank like I have. When his UVB and heat lamp go off at night, the ceramic heat emitter turns on so his enclosure doesn't get too cold! :)

Oh and by the way, the CHE has a dimmer so that it doesn't get TOO hot

That's a good sign. Just keep offering food and let him take what he wants. They can be picky and moody and that's no big deal. If he's alert and active that's more important for now. It's good that you replaced the heat rock too. CHE with a dimmer should work well. You don't need much, just enough to bump the temps into the low 70s in the tank overnight. You may not need it every night either, especially given the recent warmer temps.

It's also good that he's getting an early start with greens. Some bearded dragons never learn to like them so it's always nice if they can get used to them when they're young. Mustard greens are a good staple :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
