SORRY yet another feeding topping

I've had my male for coming up a year now. he's never been a mad eater. not like others i see where the beardie goes mad and gobles everything up in site.... he sort of just eats one or to locusts then thats it.......

well im writing now as he's not really eaten for a good few days... think hes had one locust usually i end up hand feeding as it makes him more interested..... i dont believe hes pooped for what seems longer then 2 weeks.......

he's in a 4ft viv cool end is 28ºc going upto 40ºc and under the basking light is 50ºc <-- note he never goes directly under this or not for very long.. he sits in the middle of the viv at 38ºc

lighting is a reptisun 10.0 t8 chnaged every 6 months
hes not and never has been on sand.

i've tried him with dubia roaches locusts , crickets, moria worms veg...... He never eats Veg. Im just at a bit of a loss with him

The only thing i could :banghead: myself for is leaving food in there all the time and over night BUT never crickets.

That seems quite hot, the area should not go about 40/45 centigrade. This may be brumation (see care sheets at top of site for more information). Try bathing your Beardie as well, as they could be dehydrated and this usual stimulates a bowel movement. As long as you give your beardie fresh greens and live food daily they should be fine. But if your Beardie continues to act out of character, take him/her to the vet just incase.

Gave him a good soak today as I know this some times gets things moving and gave a gentle tummy rub also..... But nothing

I am aware also that the actual basking site under the light is hot but I'm fighting a losing battle trying to keep the rest of the viv up to temp so my thermostat probe is positioned in the middle of the viv and set so it keeps the middle good maybe I dunno I should move the probe closer the basking site and re set to keep the actual basking site lower and forgot about the other end of the viv.....

Hi. Yes the temp on the basking spot is what you need to know. The only ways to get the most accurate temps is a temp gun or digital with a wire probe.

not sure about the setup that you have but if you reduce the amount of air volume present, either filling in the floor space with larger furniture or maybe placing a type of divider, the amount of energy needed to heat that volume of air will decrease. this will make it easier to regulate the temps throughout the entire enclosure. also if the issue is trying to keep the cool side from getting too cold you can go with a UTH attached to the side of the enclosure to heat the air instead of the floor? that will let you either raise the basking light up in order to give a greater distance or if you are using a rheostat you can drop the wattage

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
