Hey All
Long time no post, everything has been peachy so just been living life.
But I have recently had an issue and would like to consult you good people about it.
So about 2 1/2 months ago my beardie started to have problems in the BM department. He just wasn't having them very regularly, it was every 1 1/2 weeks for the first bit. Then when my fiancé and I went on vacation for two weeks I left him with my mother, and he ate no problem the whole time he was there and went once after his first week of being there.
And he has not gone since.
I got home on the 23rd so that means he hasn't gone since about the 16th of January.
!!!!
He doesn't appear to be in any pain, and for the past two weeks I have been giving him warm baths daily and massaging his stomach. He doesn't have a blackbeard, and he is laying normal and eating normally and the weird thing still is that when I rub his stomach, it doesn't appear to feel hard at all, its soft and squishy and just feels like a regular belly. The other weird thing is that the only change in his diet is hornworms. My mom got him a hornworm when he was there and he loved it, so after about two weeks of getting him back I got him 4. Could the hornworms be hindering his process somehow? I thought they were fairly squishy and watery like a silkworm, because he has had those without issue.
I'm getting him some prune baby food tomorrow and seeing if I can get him to eat some and hopefully get him to poop, but I am wondering if maybe its time to start cutting back on the protein?
He is probably about 11 months old now give or take a few weeks, and he mostly eats his bugs and picks at his veggies, he will eat mango no problem but I try not to give it to him more then once or twice a week and he will eat a piece or two of collards if I hand feed them to him.
Is it too early to start upping his veggies and cutting back on his protein, or will that hinder his development and size?
Thanks guys!
