Not handling enough?

Its been a while, and Scorch is doing great! But she seems not to like hanging out with me very much. Like I'll take her out of the viv and try to have her lay on my chest and she just dashes to the other end of my bed. Sometimes she acts really sweet and cuddly but most the time she just doesn't seem very interested in me. And even during the day when I've got her out, she'll just go somewhere to sleep.

Is this normal... or is it just because its winter? Or should I be handling her more?

I try to handle her for at least 20 minutes a day, sometimes longer. And we're (mom and I) always bobbing in my room and saying hi and giving her pets. I'd take her out more but honestly it gets old after having her fall off my bed and running all over the house, just to crawl under a sofa and sleep.
:(

Oh my gosh! I dont know the answer to that, but that is EXACTLY what Ember does! Every time Itake her out she crawls somewhere to sleep, other times (not very often) she seems really curious and happy and cuddly! Very weird! :p

How old is your dragon? Her behavior doesn't seem that unusual to me, and if she's younger then odds are she'll mellow out with age. Have you ever tried what people here call the beardie burrito? What you do is at night wrap them up in a soft towel and lay them on your chest for cuddle time while you're watching tv or whatnot. Often mine will fall asleep at that point. You can also do this after a bath.

Hehe Ember sounds like she's got quite the personality :love5:

And remi, I have tried the beardie burrito (mostly after her bath to dry her off a little, and a couple other times) and she doesn't seem to like it much... claws her way out and tries to jump away. Haha, but maybe I should give it another try, away from bathtime. And she'll be a year old in April :)

Lol, as long as I put mine in a burrito at night close to their bedtime, it usually works for me. Otherwise my two boys, who are two months younger than Scorch, won't have anything to do with it. Like Scorch, they'll claw their way out, and then they'll run back and forth on the couch head-bobbing everything in the room. Boys  But I think persistence is the key. You could also try feeding her worms and things while she's out and in her burrito as sort of like a bribe. It sounds like you're an awesome mom, so just keep doing what you're doing!

Thanks! ^^ I'll try feeding her a bit when she's out, she loves collard greens :)
Thanks for the advice :3 I can't wait to get a male beardie, they sound like a ton of fun!

They are all fun, but I do laugh at my boys a lot. They're going through "puberty" right now, they think they're tough stuff. But girls are fun too!! :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
