not eating

carter has not eaten barely anything in the last few days, i am offering him greens, roaches, and worms. he has eaten a few small pieces of mustard greens and one wax worm per day. he usually eats a salad and a bunch of roaches everyday. now he has just been hiding all day barely ever coming out. i have a 4x2x2 viv with a reptisun 10.0, 108* basking, 79* cool side (which is where he has been hiding under his log) he is about 5 months and 12" long. we did just get a dog a few days ago, could that have anything to do with it? any other suggestions?

It could be time to replace your Reptisun it's best to do so every 4 to 6 months...Just a thought! :wink:
It may be the new dog....that is completely possible.
Could he be getting ready for a shed?
Is he getting plenty of water?
Have you tried lowering his basking temp just a few degrees? Some beardies as they begin to mature don't like the higher basking temps.

the reptisun is only 2 months old so i dont think that that is why, I am starting to get worried though as it has been about 5 days since a large meal, carter will eat a small amount of greens and MAYBE one or two wax worms, but he will not go after the dubia or superworms. he gets baths every 3-4 days for 20 mins at a time, anyone else have any ideas??

Alvin quit eating live food a couple of months ago. He is 9 months old and perfectly healthy. He has just become lazy about going after the food. I have been feeding him chicken baby food mixed with canned crickets and green been baby food. He loves it. Downside is I have to hand feed him every day. I also offer him fresh collard greens or mustard greens everyday but he doesn't eat them very often.

We took a trip to FL a couple weeks ago (we live in MI) and when we were there, he ate more of the fresh vegies so I am thinking the warmer weather helped.

still not eating... it has been at least a week now and in this time all together he has maybe eaten one usual sized "salad" 8 wax worms, and 2 small/medium dubia. he has been getting bathed every other day and is pooping at least every other day as well somehow, anyone else have any input? he seems completely healthly, still hides alot but he was out of the hide for about 6 hours or so today

How old is he? Depending on his age it could be brumation. It is that time of year, after all. :wink:

Hmm, that's a little too young for brumation. Does the dog come into the room Carter's in very often? That might be the source of stress. Try offering some baby food to him-- but don't let him get too used to it! Fresh food is always best.

The dog isn't in there too often and never when I'm trying to feed him. Bringing him to vet tmrw just to make myself feel better and hopefully they can figure something out
