Not eating or pooping?!

So the weather has been changing where I live and my bearded dragon is starting to get older, he is about 6 now.. 2 weeks ago he stopped eating .. I thought maybe it was just from the weather change ... Every few days there will be a little drop of poop, like the size of a rabbit dropping... So he must be eating something...
Today I took him out & he seemed energetic.. He ate 2 super worms from my hand then wouldn't eat anymore ...

I know it's not a blockage because I've been giving him baths every few days .. But today was different . When I gave him a bath he stuck him mouth into the water and was drinking for a good 2 mins .. He does have a water bowl in his cage ...

I am so confused Someone help?

What are the temps in your tank and what are you using to measure them?
What uvb bulb are you using?
Substrate?

What is your dragon doing all day? Sleeping? Basking? Just laying there?

We can't really be of much help without getting some details.

Digital temp reader , hot side is, 92f.
Cold side is 81 f.
My father is an electrican so he gets good ones from work for free so in not really sure what brand.
The sub is just repti carpet.

She's doing all those , basking , sleeping and being lazy...
Right now though she is running around like a nut .

Ok hot and cool side are fine, what is the basking surface temp? That is the most important.

Your basking temperature is not a suitable basking temperature for a bearded dragon. If a dragon can't digest, it won't eat. If it's not eating, it's not going to poop.

Okay I will have to get a higher watt light.
But the thing is she's had this light for many years, but suddenly now she won't eat ..
She also have a heat rock if she is ever to cold ...

She gets UVB from the light on the cooler side .

from what ive read around, its a good idea to change the bulbs at least every year because they lose its power over time. so your bulbs may not be producing the correct amount of wattage/ uvb that it should

I just got back from the pet store got a 100 watt reptile spot basking light.
The highest temp I've saw it at is 103F.

Based on you saying the uvb is on the cool side, i'd assume that you don't have a long strip uvb? It's a compact coil bulb?

Those are dangerous to bearded dragons. You are better off turning it off forever.

You need to get either the reptisun 10.0 TUBE, or the arcadia 12%. These are the ONLY two uvb bulbs on the market currently proven safe and effective for bearded dragons. Don't waste money on a bulb that is not even going to be doing any good for your dragon.

Proper UVB plays a big role in appetite.

Is 103 the temp with the probe end placed right on the basking surface? Did you let it rest in place for 45 minutes to get a good reading?

I like the 103 a lot better than your previous temp, so that is a step in the right direction. :mrgreen:
