Not Eating, Extremely Lathargic, and has Bloody Diarrhea!

So my year old beardie, Moto, has always been the chubby one in the family. Eats whatever you put in front of her. Active as heck, too! And now, she does NOTHING all day, but shes not like sleeping so I didn't think it was brumation. And recently, she hasn't pooped. If she does, it is like, every few days. When, or if, she does, it is little, brownish (no white), watery, and has blood in it. And she sort of struggles getting it out.

Her heat is always normal (hot side 108, cold side 82), we feed them crickets, dubia roaches (every once in a while), worms (every once in a while), collard greens, and kale.

We are worried about her! She just doesn't seem to have as much "life" as she used to. She doesn't move, when we let her out she stays in one spot instead of her constant wandering (like normal), and she doesn't fully open her eyes anymore.

Help please!

I am thinking that a fecal is in order. What you are describing seems to me to be a parasite infestation. I would also start bathing more and hold back on the kale, but add more collards for the meanwhile.

Oh god. Well we are going to take her to a vet either today or tomorrow and get a fecal done.
Sort of a dumb question, do I bring them the fecal? If so, how..? It's just straight liquid, with chunks of gooey bloody looking stuff.

scoop up the newest with a paper towel and place inside a sandwich baggie, and place inside the fridge, if over night, if fresh, than just scoop it up, baggie it, and bring it along ! You don't have to take the dragon, but I would, just in case meds needs to be offered immediately. Also, be aware that Coccidia might also be found on the tests. If the level of Coccidia is 5+ then you will want to treat that as well, if however it is around 3-4 don't bother.

Since I suspect a parasite, you will want to lay your hands on a NON dairy, Soy Yogurt for a probiotic. This helps the good tummy bacteria from being removed along with the bad bacteria with the medicines, it will help your dragon to continue to eat well, while on an antibacterial medicine.

If you can, please post the results of any tests that the vet does, so we can help you with proper dosing.
Hope this helped out!
Hugs for you and Moto!

Yes, indeed, that would alarm me too !
Well, you have the appt, and you have been apprised of the coccidia, so let's just wait for the results and go from there. Also, can you raise the temps in the viv a bit ? Only up to around 105 for the basking, 95 for the warm side, 85 for the cool side. Dragons tend to recover better when the temps are a bit warmer.
Hugs !

So.. sorry for the late update.

We took moto to the vet and they keep her overnight. They did radiographs or whatever and took blood tests and had her on antibiotics and force feed her. They said the blood tests were clean but they noticed in some of the radiographs that she had some either unhatched eggs stuck in her stomach or some ovarian cysts. (which would require surgury.) :/

They sent us home with antibiotics and this stuff you make to force feed her. We have been doing that about almost a week. Just yesterday she actually seemed interested in real food like crickets and worms.

So today we went out and bought a whole bunch of worms and crickets and she ate quite a few. Then I soaked her and SHE POOPED!!!! I don't think I have ever been so happy to see poop. hehe (and boy was it one hugeeee poop.)

But...Razor, we think, has the same thing..whatever it is. So hopefully, we can go back and get antibiotics for him. We have been force feeding him the same stuff they gave us for her. So he is "eating." Cross your fingers!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
