Hello,

Bearded Dragon Stats:
Name: Stellar
Sex: Male
Age: 7 months
Length: 16 inches
Weight: 215 grams
Distance between eyes: 3/4 inch

I understand that I am probably abusing this forum, but y'all are super helpful!

Basically, my 7 month old bearded dragon has decided that he no longer likes crickets. Ever since I decided to give Stellar a few mealworms as a treat every once and a while, he decided that crickets were not worth it. I tried holding the worms for a week, but he had NO interest in crickets. I understand that this is normal and that he is tired of them? Stellar is still eating his veggies and will jump at the opportunity of a worm.

Because Stellar is still so young, he needs protein to grow. I know that mealworms are "bad" for them because of their exoskeletons. I was thinking of trying another type of worm, but super worms are TOO BIG (he is still a juvenile) and any other type of worm does not act as a good staple.

These are my questions:
Is this normal?
Can I feed my bearded dragon super worms? Cut them in half?
Butter worms/wax worms?

Thanks,

Hi there....Stellar is big enough for superworms now. :) If you are concerned, go ahead and cut them in half. Don't give him more than 5-6 at a time to begin with, and no more than 10 a day as he gets used to them. As long as his basking spot is warm enough he'll digest them just fine. You can also feed hornworms, buttherworms + silkworms . Some of my dragons go through a phase where they snub crickets, then after a month or 2 they accept them again. Keep offering dark leafy greens, too such as turnip greens, mustard greens, collards, some kale, dandelion, cilantro.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
