Not eating but pooping frequently

My beardie has ceased accepting food recently and begun pooping very frequently, two to three times a day, and in very small quantities. I believe that she was dehydrated as a result of my moving her to a new enclosure where there water was in a different place, and when I showed her to the water she was very eager to drink. She's still drinking but hasn't resumed normal eating or defecating habits and I'm becoming very worried. I'm concerned that it's more than stress that's keeping her from eating, as I was before. It was 3-4 weeks ago that I moved her to the new enclosure and 2-3 days ago when I got her to drink; she wasn't eating for about a week before that. I was first alerted to the problem when I saw a slightly bloody stool, and my very first action was to put her into a tub of warm water.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like parasites (Coccidia). How is her weight? Is her fecal very smelly (enough to clear the room)? Have you had/done a fecal test lately?

Could be stress... If I gather right 3-4 week ago you moved Vivs, and a week prior she stopped eating? If it was a week prior to the Viv change I would weigh my first hunch more and get/perform a fecal test.


When my little guy has Coccidia, which can cause:
"1. Consistent loose, runny, very foul smelling feces
2. Loss of apatite
3. Loss of weight or stunted weight gain
4. Lethargy
5. Blood in feces or urates"

My guy showed 1, 2, 3, and 5. I don't think anything would make this guy lethargic, he's just too active, but he did have his "leave me alone" days when I think about it.

Let us know if any of that fits the bill.


If you have a local vet that will accept exotics or one close, a fecal test is usually ~$20 and doesn't usually require a paid check up unless they require his weight and/or haven't seen her there before they'll typically want to do a once over on pyscial health, as well as ask questions about care/habitat.

She most definitely fits everything but lethargy. She hasn't been eating for a while now, and I know that wasn't the stress because she did at first. She's noticably thinner as a result, and had another bloody stool today. Maybe I'm just apt to believe anything that can give me an answer but I'm thinking this might be the problem. I called our local vet today but the "exotic pet specialist" was out (apparantly she rotates between vets in the area) until monday. Nobody within an hour's drive could help. Before, I was thinking it might just be some severe constipation and little bits are getting through, but the parasites sound more likely. I've been giving her the warm-bath-and-massage treatment and gave her a little mineral oil, but that's had no effect as of yet aside from the bloody stool I mentioned earlier.
Thank you for the response. I intend to take her into the vet ASAP and in the meantime I'll just keep her comfortable and wait for any more suggestions.
