not breeding

i have aquestion why would my male dragon not want to breed with my female dragon? i take them out and place them on my living room floor, he then begins to head bob at her and then he goes and bites her in the back of her head but just lays on top of her and does nothing and after a while just lets her go and does not seem interested any more. my female is about 2 and a half years old to 3 and my male is about 2 years old they have never been breed so i dont know why he is doing this.
any help would be appreciated. thanks

After i put my female in with my male they took over a month before he even tried to breed with her. It just takes time. ALso if you have them both in the same tank all day you dont even know if they have bred while your out of the room it can take less than 10 sec for a breeding to happen.

My male is 2 years old and this is his first breeding and like i said it took over a month after putting her in there with him before i saw any breeding.

Thanks for the response and it's also his first time breeding I don't keep them in the same tank for breeding I put them on my living room floor so do you think he will eventually breed with her or should I try another male?

Some males i have seen wont breed out side there tank, so if you want you can try another male. Is the female ready? have you checked every thing about her?

also see my male seen my female on the floor out side his tank, but he never tired, but after i put her in the tank and left her there he got used to her and i guess she got ready and gave him signs.

When i mean checked her, is she good weight for her size? Is she eatting very good?

Also when i mean is she ready, is she showing any signs like arm waving or slow head bobbing? These two signs are good and show she wants to mate.

Yeah she is a very big girl as in weight but not that long only about 18inches but yes she does head bob slowly to my male while he is head bobing at her she also arm waves at him

If its his first time it may take him a little bit to figure it out. They may need to spend more time together.
