I picked up a young 2 month bearded dragon yesterday, in his new enclosure he seems to not sit still and lay in his basking spot after eating which freaks me out cause I dont want him impacted. I'll catch him laying there for about 3-5 minutes then he gets up runs around and stuff like that. this is the first time i've used a melamine enclosure

I'm using a 50w basking bulb, temps are usually around 110-115(i know they like them hot for young ones), hes on a piece of wood not a rock or anything dont wanna get him hot. I will have to probably move down a wattage or not use a zoomed basking bulb intense one. he's ate some dubias yesterday after i got him and some today. still no poop maybe im just over thinking it but hes adorable so im making sure his health is 100%. I'm using a repti-sun 10.0(as donated from a member on here <3) He's not lethargic or anything, and hes really quick, never in the same spot in his enclosure. It's a 37 gallon. thanks

Maybe excitement of a nice new house?
Little guys tend to be a little squirmish from my experience when I got my male from a younger age.
Maybe he just wants to be active. I would get him some stuff to climb on too. He would love it!
See how he is in a few days though and maybe let him climb a little closer to the basking spot and lower wattage bulb if its that hot at ground surface. Maybe his interest will peak when he has to climb to it.

As long as he basks periodically he may just be regulating his temp. He doesn't need to spend all his time basking, just enough to get to the right temp. Then he can scamper around until he cools off and has to go bask some more.

I second adding some climbing furniture, and adjusting the light so the basking perch is higher up. He'll appreciate the enrichment and needs to get closer to the UVB bulb anyway.

Thanks, i added a few pieces of wood for him to play around with also a reptile ladder. He just went poop and all feeders are properly digested. So I know he's getting his right digesting temperature. Whew

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
