Hello. It has been awhile since I have asked a question but I am stumped....so I come to the beardie bible to get some help!
Puff was eating great again after we got rid of his parasites; 60-100 crix a day (2 feedings one feeding is dusted),4-6 butterworms & greens offered daily containing squash and endive lettuce and every so often some fruit. At first he was slowing down on his crix to maybe 10-30 a day and in taking the same amount of butterworms. (salad always available) Then he stopped eating crix all together but he would still eat the same amount of worms. So I stopped the worms and now he just doesn't eat at all; unless, he nibbles at his salad and I don't notice. Before all this started he seemed to not basking as much as he used to. He goes to bask after feeding then comes down 30min after so I put him back on his hammock to bask further. We don't need impaction. He seems to spend a lot of the time now on the bottom of his cage. For lighting I have a reptisun 10 36" hood and a zoo med 75W basking. I am in a basement so I keep a CHE on all day as well to keep the temps (on the warm side) @ 95-100 (usually sits at 102-105). All lights & heat go off at night time; the tank doesn't go lower than 65 at night. I am usually a prob thermometer. Now with his poop; I finally got him to go in the bath. He gets a bath once a day 98% of the time. Lately he hasn't been waiting for his bath and just going in his tank but when I do take him for a bath he will then strain to have a poop and maybe some urate will come out (because he already went in his tank). Today he did it again but this time his urate got stuck in his vent connected with, what looked like, puss. His poop has had a clear puss like substance (mucus) attached to it in the past few days. But other than that his poop looks normal. He has been pooping once a day.
I don't know if this matters but I did switch his substrate to tile about 3wks ago and he nails got real short; I think he is a little embarrassed that he can't climb as good as he used to. Like getting to his basking spot and getting down it takes a little effort each way.
So any ideas why he has been acting a little strange? Should I take a stool sample in?
