Hi Folks,
today was a very mild Vegas day so we opted to try for another pool day. I took out the tree with us again but left out the water and just let Norris bask. He had just chomped on three crickets and a dubia so I figured he'd like some basking time. He started off stressed but eventually calmed down and seemed to enjoy himself. I'd say we were outside for about 15 or 20 mins. He started gaping and since I couldn't found my super thermo-fantastic ray gun I decided to play it safe and move to cooler weather. I'm going to start with my favorite photo first and then go back to the beginning.
Here is Norris on Sean's (my hubby) hand just before we took him in. His colors were dark for basking but his belly lightened up to a nearly perfect white. (what we call Norris Perfect!) Wow, look at his basking colors! He looks like he dressed for Halloween! Who needs a costume! No flash, just sunshine and a happy dragon.
Here is how our outing started, though...not nearly as happy, naturally...cue grump!
When I took the picture, it made him open his eyes. I could just hear him say. "Here comes the camera again...egads Tree!"
"...at least get my Good Side!" (thank goodness looks can't kill!)
however, it didn't take long before he really started getting into the whole outdoor basking this time so we all just sat around and enjoyed.
Norris on my Sean's hand, looking like the regal Morris he is.
well, mostly regal...
Norris on my hand, leaning back as on one arm in his Jabba the Hutt impersonation. It's the closest we've come to catching it on camera. He puts the other arm against his belly! I've caught him doing it twice now.
He had been so white bellied and even in the picture above you can see the stress marks starting. I had just reached a finger in to point it out to hubby, wondering why he was getting so stressed when Norris explained what was bothering him.
apparently it was the plane over head... flight attendant with a plane phobic dragon.
After that we went inside and he went back to chomp a few more crickets ...alls well that ends well, unless you're a cricket.
