So moved some things around put his hammock slanted so it brings him closer to the lights. He seems dissatisfied with the rock top and keeps climbing the styrofoam backing to get closer to the light. I keep checking temp but having a hard time getting it to that 100-105 sweet spot. Switched the 60w bulb for a 100w bulb. Also have his solar glow bulb going. Is a reptisun 10 a actual bulb or a strip light? Does the reptisun put out enough heat? It would be nice to only need one bulb. Might also get a ceramic heater bulb and a temp regulator. To auto regulate the basking temp. As for his food they don't ship till Monday and they are on the other side of Canada from me should only take 3 days for them to arrive. Ordered 500 bsfl and 150 butter worms for him. However other then the first day when he ate some romaine lettuce.(It was before I did more research so not using that as a main anymore.) He won't nibble his bok Choy. Can't wait until I have all this figured out and good to go so I can focus more on just feeding and playing. Also what's a good bath temp? How often can I bath him? I also read that bathing allows him to get hydrated is that true?

The ReptiSun 10 is a tube light that puts out very little heat. It's job is to produce UVB which it does well. You'll need to rely on your basking bulb to produce the proper temperatures. If you use a halogen flood light you can use a dimmer or dimming thermostat to control it. You can do this with a ceramic heat emitter as well if you wish but that doesn't produce visible light (which makes them a good option for overnight). It does take a bit of fuss to get the lighting just right initially but once it's set up, it's not too bad to maintain and control.

I only really provide baths when my dragon gets stinky but he likes them so it's not stressful. I don't recommend them if they seem to cause stress. I run water on the inside of my wrist to test temperature. It should just feel warm to your wrist and I fill the bath up to about shoulder height or so. It provides hydration if they drink from the bath which they will do sometimes. I've found it easier to provide extra hydration by dripping water on their noses so they can lick it up directly.

Careful with him on that mesh hammock , they have very fine nails that easily get get snagged in the mesh and can have trouble and injure themselves trying to get free.
I know people who give their beardies those hammocks say the beardie's love them, but this is a risk , he's better off with nice strong and roughly textured bit of driftwood or a tree branch (from the local woods / forest) to crawl onto to bask.

Might have been a bit too warm and enjoying the cooling effect of the water , did he poo in the water dish too .... lots do that too .... cleaver buggers soon discover submerged poos don't stink as much....

Nope other then the poop he had after I finished cleaning all the puke from his tank and he made a "pee" later on a towel by my desk. Speaking of baths how deep should the water be?

if it's over his side spike fringe on his body it's probably too deep IMO.

For a tiny hatchling like him , I'd use plastic take away food tub as his bathtub until he grows too big for it.

So happy he is eating an energetic. He nibbled some greens. And decided the empty juice jug I was absently swinging was fun to chase back and forth in his tank.

Thank you so much for all the advice and help so far. I am getting my BSFL today with the butter worms. Just wondering if this is an ok feeding plan.

Morning- Bok Choy and shredded carrot. Plus as many BSFL as he will eat in 10 min + 1-2 Butter worms.

Evening- More BSFL.

I am also trying to mix up his salad but so far as I can tell he only eats the Bok Choy.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
