Got my viv all set up in perpetration for my first beardie. Hopefully I did everything right but I wanted to post here first to see if I could get some constructive criticism.

Couple of things I'm worried about specifically:
1. Does it look like my dragon will have access to all of his stuff(hide, water dish, basking spots)?
2. The rock I picked up from my aunts yard it's kind of heave(don't know the exact weight). Is there any chance it could break the bottom of the tank? It's a 40 gallon breeder tank.

Of corse any tips on things I could have done better would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Setup looks good. What kind of lighting do you have going? As for the rock that was picked up in a yard, be sure to rinse it nicely and then bake it in the oven on low for 20 min or so to kill any critters hitching a ride.

I have a 36" 10.0 reptisun UVB, a ceramic heater, a basking lamp (threw away the box but I think it's 50 watts), and gonna get a normal white light bulb for the cool side. Tried to set it up like the "newbies guide on what to buy" posted on the home page, and don't worry I baked and rinsed the sticks and the rock. Still got awhile til I'm actually gonna buy the lizard so getting the temp right shouldn't be a problem once I get all the equipment.

Put a piece of plywood (same measurements) between the glass and substrate on the bottom of the viv. We did that with the tile we got for the bottom of the viv. It will give some cushion between the rock and the glass bottom and should keep it from easily cracking the glass.
Also, another cheap tip (that we did when we finally got our viv right) if your temps are not just right, you could get some tile at home depot (about $2-4 each) and stack them under the basking stick/rock, each one has very little height, so you can really get exactly the height you need by adding or taking away one or two, without getting a new basking stick/rock to get closer/further away, to get the correct temps. As your guy grows he will be bigger, and so his spot will not need to be as close as when you first got him. You could change it by moving the lamp higher as well, but we chose to move the basking spot higher/lower with the tiles. Tiles are also great as substrate if you want a more eye appealing viv than newspaper or paper towels.
What age are you planning to get? If he will be very young, you have to make sure he can reach the areas you are setting up, without falling, like the distance from the basking spot to the hammock, at least for the first month or so.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
