no signs of "growing up"

I don't know if I should be thankful or disappointed that Khan hasn't headbobbed or blackbearded (a full, REAL blackbeard) not even once. Does anybody have males that haven't exhibited their "manlyness" ever? Maybe it means he's comfortable in his surroundings, I guess. It just seems odd that he's nearing a year in age and hasn't displayed at all. Harumph.

Does Khan come in contact or see any other dragons?
Ifrit one of my males will start a fight whenever he can typically and Des my other male will only fight if a dragon is touching his enclosure. Kind of an odd thing when Ifrit gets close enough to Des's enclosure and Des, will charge the glass, head bob and black beard. My 2 females will start to wave when this happens.

You have quite a social-system going there, don't you? lol
Khan hasn't seen another beardie since he left bloodbank, to be sure. Perhaps that's it. I just always hear of people getting "bobbed" at and the like.

Honestly, I've only had my dragon for 4 months and I think he's like 5-6 months old, but I haven't seen any sign of that either. He used to wave at me all the time when he was younger, and I've only seen him head bob once -- at his own reflection as I was leaning towards my mirror while he was on my shoulder. I've seen the kinda-beard... the puffy but not black, kind of inflated, kind of just showing off... still waiting for a full Blackbeard Bones over here

I dunno. I say as long as they're healthy and look happy, maybe we should count ourselves lucky to not have emo lizards?

My fist dragon was a male and I never seen any kind of headbobbing from in the years I had him. I did foster a female for awhile and that got him going but once she left, he settled right down.

If you want to see a head-bob, maybe try a hand mirror - they sometimes get pretty aggressive with their reflection;)

Lol thanks, haha. He sees his reflection every time he gets a bath and has never done anything. I don't think I'd purposefully make him headbob at nothing.

Mine have never head bobbed either. I see an occasional head jerk and a head roll and that's it.

Oh rly? Is it very pronounced rolling? I can only say that Khan just puffs his beard and body up, i think to stretch his skin. Other than that, I'm in the same boat (well obviously, since I started this thread, haha).

Get a fake toy lizard and place it in or near his enclosure. I think most head bobbing is going to generate from having multiple dragons. But, there are always exceptions.

Hahaha, come now! He sleeps with a plushie iguana, so that trick would hardly work, lol. I have shown him youtube vids before of dragons but he never seemed interested in them. This was when he was younger, albeit.

I hate youtube you go to look for something cool to watch, like BD's and end up seeing some dogs barking and provoking a monitor, lol @ all the negative comments that guy got though for filming it and not taking his dogs away and yada yada.
Anyways, I am out of tricks then.

I totally get what you're saying though. It takes a lot of searching to come across a gem on the website. But still, there are a few good things out there. I have an account, maybe I should do some tutorials for bd.org. Meh, with what time, says me? with what time?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
