You may or may not of heard about the snow in england but the snow has caused a severe lack of live food. The delivery trucks have not been able to make it to us meaning there has been no live food in stores for the past week and a bit. People panic bought all foods for there reptiles leaving the majority of us with nothing. Online stores refuse to deliver as the live foods would die in the cold so theres litterally nothing. My beardies have gone over a week without food and i dont know what to do until food can get here. They are still acting fine and im not worried about their health as of now but i dont like to leave them like this. I have been giving them extra veggies and stuff to keep them happy and im getting them to eat calcium fine but im just worried about the lack of protein. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Both are 1yr 5mo, or one is 1yr and the other is 5mo? At one year a week or two without live food is fine, especially if they are eating their veggies well. Repashy sells some bug replacement powder that you mix up like jell-o if you want to go that route. I might look into that for the younger one (if that’s the case).

As adults they are very well able to handle a short [ or much longer ] time without live food. Just feed them veggies like rocket + kale, and you can even offer a scrambled egg microwaved for 1 minute with no oil. Healthy adult dragons can go quite a while without a food and still remain healthy , even showing very little weight loss.

Can you post pics of your guys ?

Here in Canada they just put little $0.50 heat packs in with live feeder shipments in the winter.

Some of the online suppliers will let you pick up your order in person if you want to make the drive.
You could also check the classifieds, reptile facebook groups, or whatever version of kijiji/craigslist you have in the uk. Sometimes people sell feeders on there.

Either way at that age a week or two without insects is no problem

Repashi GrubPie would be a very good back up insect protein source, just make up as you need it.

If you can get silkworm eggs and silkworm chow , they are not hard to hatch and raise , only takes a month or two to get them big enough to use as feeders (ie good size for hatchlings in 1 month)

One feed of insects each per day at that age. See my previous response regarding GrubPie. https://www.store.repashy.com/by-product-name-en/grub-pie-reptile-en/

If you chose to hatch some silkworms , you can get away with maybe 6 to 8 medium (30mm long) silkworms for each per feed ( a 30mm long silkworm weighs about 0.5g , a gutloaded medium crickets is 0.25g .... you can do the comparison for other insects).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
