I know it's the first thing people ask so here's this information:
- Tank is 55 gallon
- I use Repticarpet
- UVB is Repti-sun 10.0
- Temperatures range from 80-100 degrees F
- He gets fed Dubai roaches, I use calcium (no d3) 5 days a week and herptivite (or whatever it's called) 2 days a week. Also collard greens and acorn squash.
- He's 7 months old, 17 inches long, last went to the doctor around a month ago and said he's at a very healthy weight
- Yes I am certain it is a male.
So for the past few weeks my beardie has been acting really weird and it's only gotten weirder. He'll glass surf for a few minutes before pooping (and he's started pooping once every 3 days now instead of every day, I've tried to give warm baths to make him poop more often but it doesn't work). The poop is normal, it's solid, not runny or anything. He makes normal poops. But even after he poops he still continues to go crazy and glass surf. Sometimes for up to an hour before calming down, sometimes he'll freak out for an hour and be calm for a few minutes before doing it again, and lately his beard is black after pooping. Not puffing but just black. When I take him out of his tank after pooping, he's fine, calm, normal.
He's also, just recently within the past week or two, stopped eating. Not completely but he obviously isn't eating nearly as much as normal. I offer greens and roaches every day to him, twice a day. He'll eat a few roaches (like about 5 or 6) then run away from them and refuse to eat anymore. Or he'll just run away first thing. Same with greens, he'll eat maybe one or two pieces then stop. The only way I can get him to eat quite a bit more than usual is as soon as he wakes up. His stomach is still big and always feels full so I don't think he's losing any weight. I've even tried feeding him some strawberries which he's an absolute mad-man for and will take from out of my hand, but those don't even interest him.
Along with all of this, he's been going to bed 1-2 hours earlier than normal.
I'm at a total loss on what to do. It's really concerning me that he's not eating like how he usually does. Is this just him being a teenager or is there something wrong? Mid-January he just got off of a 7 day medication that helped get rid of some basic parasites that he had too much of, so I really don't think this is all due to parasites.
Help!!!
