No crickets in Socal?

Hey guys, so I live in the Los Angeles area and I have noticed that there have been major problems with local breeder(s) out here.
All the shops are saying that they are lacking supplies and can't sell more than 100 at a time (I used to be them by the 100's).
When I asked why, they've been saying that there have been problems with the breeders! Mulberry farms isn't selling crickets, and I think one of the big breeders in Simi Valley has stopped, too.

Am I just having bad luck...or is something up?

Wow, I just checked with the breeder that I used to get crickets from(switched to breeding roaches) and he's not selling any right now. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see what's up. It's definitely not bad luck.

Cricket Farms get massive die offs, and it tends to go in waves through the industry, by area. It takes about 3 weeks or so to get back in business.

My boyfriend went to go pick up crickets for me at a shop and was told that the supplier for the reptile shops out here was affected by a cricket virus that wiped up all crickets younger than 4 weeks.

Roaches are the way to go!
