Hi there, I have nine month old bearded dragon that has possibly been ruminating for the last few months. Took her to the vet two weeks ago she checked out fine but could not give fecal sample. She has only ate two times since February 9. BTW she ate almost nothing for the few months before February 9 and her weight was still good. May be about four days after the vets she ate about a dozen small Dubia roaches and a few days later she ate about four small roaches and since she wasn't pooping I stopped giving her bugs and only offered her salad. She ate some salad three days ago for the first time during this brumation period And then ate some salad last night. I have been bathing her in warm water daily and gently rubbing her belly but still nothing and it's been 14 days now I'm very nervous and stressed called the vet today but the doctor won't be in till Monday I'm freaking out can someone help me please

Try giving her more salad and greens, nettles help with digestion. Keep bathing her too, that usually does it. If she needs to go, she'll go so I wouldn't be too worried, but a trip to the vet would be a good idea. Make the sure temperatures are correct too, this may have a slight affect.

Keep us posted.

Hi. You can try plain applesauce with a drop of olive oil. What kinds of lights are you using? Brands? Temps and how you take them?

I have reptisun 10.0 HO 48" t5 and zoo med 100 watt basking spot lamp. Both lamps no more than three months old. Baskin temp 105 and cold side 70 on 12/12 schedule. I saw a video on YouTube with a post from this website except he used baby food but he did say you can use applesauce I have apple sauce and olive oil here so tomorrow I will try to give her some. Thank you for your help so far and I will keep you informed

So I mix up teaspoon of apple sauce with a few drops of olive oil and she ate maybe quarter of it and then bathe her but still no luck just put 150 W Baskin light in today instead of 100 w so just sitting here stressing out LOL maybe tomorrow I'll try baby food prunes and then I would probably say the vet on Monday

What type of thermometer are you using to check the temps? If the basking temp was 105 before, I would think the 150 watt bulb would make it too hot. A temp of 70 on the cool side is actually too low, it should be 78 to 82. You might find you need to use a low wattage household light bulb on the cool side but lets discuss the thermometer you have now first. What size is the tank?

Heating up the applesauce so that it is very warm but not hot, makes a difference. Also massaging gently on the right side from the armpit to vent area helps. Using a heated rice sock is also helpful. Take a sock and fill it up with uncooked rice then tie a knot in the end. Heat it in the microwave for a few seconds, test the temp by the side of your cheek, should feel quite warm but not hot. Wrap your beardie up in a towel with his belly sitting on the sock.

How old is your beardie and does he have a darkened beard and/or tail? You could also offer some squash baby food or even pumpkin baby food.

Good luck. Please keep us updated.

She actually needed a better light since I changed her over from her 20 gallon tank to a 55 gallon long tank the hundred watt lamp was hanging halfway in the cage this one sits high now and gives much better lighting and I use a reptisun 10.0 ho 48" t5 right now the basking spot is 105° and around it is 87° the cold side is about 75 but she never goes to the cold side. I bathed her a couple times today in a warm bath 95° for about 20 minutes and she spent time on her Baskin rock she did eat some more salad today with collard greens dandelion squash. I do rub her belly many times a day she doesn't mind it. I also had her on my lap on a heating pad with a towel over it so it wasn't hot for a while. I think tomorrow I'm going to try the baby food prunes with some olive oil tomorrow. She is nine months old. I did not try heating the applesauce yet. Can to Much applesauce or baby food and olive oil hurt your dragon?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
