nighttime cuddles

so i've had my baby beardie just under two weeks, and i've already fallen in love with him. i named him Archer, after the FX show (yep, i'm a dork).

i'm learning about all the strange things beardies do by watching Archer. his tendency to sleep leaning up against the side of his tank is always amusing, but my favorite is how he scratches at the side of his tank at night just after the timer shuts his lights off. when i reach in, he climbs on my hand, then jumps onto my chest and falls asleep. every. single. night. i find myself looking forward to this nightly habit. and every time he does this little wiggle to get nestled in more i think i'm going to explode from the cute. i can't believe i never had a beardie before now. Archer is such a joy. i think i'm definitely spoiling him already by indulging this, but how can i not?

i think he's about 7 or 8 weeks. he's only 7.5 inches long right now (he was slightly smaller than all the others in the store's tank, but he was the one in front of the tank following me when i moved, so of course i had to pick him as he picked me lol).

That's so cute! My hunter is 8 in missing an in or more of tail I have had him for a mth and a 1/2 (he was 5 1/4 when I got him my guess is he's around 4 months, and not a big fan of me lol he's getting there mainly I'm afraid he's gonna get lost and jump off me so I sneak a cuddle in after he's asleep :lol: enjoy your lil cuddle bug

i was really nervous holding him at first, but he's never been the least aggressive toward me. sometimes during the day he tries to scurry away, but i'm generally able to be quicker than he is, and he only ever runs in short bursts. he loves being held, which is awesome because i like being able to handle my pets. the funny thing is Archer is more cuddly than my cat--she's more of the "i'll get attention from you only when i want it, so don't touch me otherwise" kind of cat lol. but it's nice having a variety of personalities from my pets.

when rebel was rebel was about 1 and when her cage was smaller she would jump out her cage during the night and jump into my bed almost everynight. she liked too sleep under my side so if i rolled over id roll over her meaning i had too be carefull
also when i first got her i use too wrap her in her blanket and put her right next too me at night to sleep.......you cant help but spoil them

Archer is so funny to watch. he's sort of like a dog the way he begs to be picked up, or how he races around his tank when he sees i'm about to drop some crickets in.

i was away last night and was so sad i missed our cuddle time! but i'm home with my baby now

i've attached an image of him curled up on my chest (my t-shirt must be like a comfy hammock to him lol)

That is super cute !! What a snuggle bug I love it when they wiggle in like that - definitely heart melting It's also cute when they curl up and tuck that tail up by their nose Sweet babies !

Aww sweet! I just got Sunny last week,she'll be 7 weeks tomorrow,about 8 inches. I feel the same way about not having a beardie before-she is so cute & cracks me up,now I know what I was missing out on. One thing she does that makes me laugh everytime is when I hold her for a while she will start wanting to run around so I take her back to her tank & try to put her in she will do anything she can to stay in my hand & not go in. She will snuggle into me then close her eyes,to me it seems like she is pretending to sleep 'cuz after I go sit back down,a couple of minutes later,'all of the sudden' she's wide awake & ready to play again,so when she gets to the point of wanting to run around again I take her back & she does it everytime. lol :lol: what's funny is I'm typing one handed 'cuz she's asleep in the other right now..guess she's already getting spoiled lol
