Hey guys so a vet (not my regular rep vet I was out of town) told me that I needed to have a nighttime uvb/uva lamp as well as my other lighting so that my beardie would have spectrum lighting at all times. My baby Stanley (Ann) Yelnats sleeps with a heating pad that sits below the entire cage so it heats up the bottom of the little hut where she sleeps and is far enough away that it doesn't burn her. She seems very happy with this and always is very warm/normal body temp in the morning. However, by the hardest I found a bulb that would give off UVA/UVB, heat, AND very little visible light for the night time. It is 60 watts and purple. I turn it on and the cage temp rises a little at night which is good, but since Stan sleeps under a little hut every night I don't think she is getting the benefits of any of the spectrum lighting. Is this bad? The vet worried me about her getting uvb at night yet I haven't heard this anywhere else. Does anyone know any more about this subject? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
