Yeah hes (he for now.. yet to be seen) about a month a a half old.. two tops. I wouldn't say he completely soaks himself but gets in and right back out.. not completely submerged. Yeah its funny watching him fall asleep.. they are pretty sound sleepers hey.
Question though.. what are your night temps Em?
We keep our house thermostat at 66 at night, and enclosure stays about the same, or slightly higher. We used to have beardie upstairs in a room that got too cold at night (below 65), so we had to use a heat emitter. Now that she's downstairs, she gets the benefit of the central heating, so no more CHE, which has been so nice! And with summer coming, the temps will rise of course (gees, I wish... this has been the LONGEST winter!).
As to your dragon submerging himself, my only concern would be that at the lower nighttime temps, he wouldn't be able to sufficiently dry off (i.e., fungus possibilities, or possibly upper respiratory issues), as the temps are cooling in the tank. But I can certainly understand the want for a
bath before bed... I know I always sleep better this way! LOL  When we
bathe our dragon, she takes a very long basking session afterward to dry off. I read somewhere (probably here  ) that that is why it's important to
bathe them at least a few hours before bedtime so that they can dry off completely, and regain their proper heating before heading off to bed, and lower temps... so when you said he was jumping in the water just as the temps were cooling, I thought I'd mention it as a caution, something to look out for.
The best,
Em
