Night time heat help

I'm from the UK and I'm confused with the heat at night . I bought the 4 foot wide tank of a lad on facebook odviosly tank was complete with dragon . He had the heat lamp in middle off the tank I have just recently moved it to one side of the tank with his log under it . All the dragon seems to be doing at the minute is sleeping he's berly active Evan when out tank he just sits on floor bearly wants to run and explore . The temp of his tank on a night is 94f . Do I need to switch the lamp off when the uv strip turns off after his 12 hours . Also the lamp that was in the tank is black does this make a difference ? Help would be great we are new owners and odv wants what's best I will try and get some photos up over the weekend as its at my partners house thanks again

Is the black light a ceramic bulb or does it emit a purpleish light? If its ceramic and no visible light then it's OK for use overnight. That said, the nighttime temps should fall. It can go as low as about 18c overnight with no problem. I like to keep my tank at about 21-22c overnight.

A don't think it gives any light off just heat mate . But the temp more or less stay the same all time . He just sits on cold side of tank under his rock .how will a drop the temp tho. Do you think constant heat will be making him lazy and explain why he won't bask . Searched all over internet and asked loca l shops but we don't seem.to be getting further forward
