Well since I have already been posting on the boards I figured it was time for a formal Introduction. My husband and I share a 2 family house with my mother and my 2 children. We have 4 dogs and 1 cat. right before my son's b-day my cat brought a Blue Belly lizard up to the porch and I saved it from being eaten. My son (Nicholas just turned 14) wanted to keep it really badly. So i did some light readin on what i would need and we went and got some basic items for the blue belly. After about 1 week of it continually racing up his arm and escaping into his bedroom under all of his furniture my mom had had enough and decided we should free it and just go get a leopard gecko for him. I agreed of course. So down to the pet store we went... And saw the MOST adorable bearded dragons... that was it. We walked out with a baby. Tiny little thing too. Brought it home with all the supplies that the guy at petsmart said it needed... after a crazy week of exchanges becuase everything they told me was wrong the poor little guy had lost a significant amount of weight and started sleeping all day and started having runny poo and everything... I freaked of course. My mom freaked more... Back to the pet store he went and I was heartbroken. (petstore said they would be taking him to the vet and I could repurchase if he got better) So we went to our local mom and pop store and got an older beardie who ate just fine and looked good and healthy... brought it home and it didnt seem to have much of any issues with relocation stress. One problem though. He didn't like my son. OMG by this time I was pulling my hair out. The whole idea was for my son in the first place... so back to the store he went and back to petsmart we went... they said the little guy we took back was better and eating great so we got him back! My son was happy, I was happy, even my daughter was thrilled. We got home before I realized that the little guy isn't the same one as before but that's ok. (I really don't know what happened to him) The one we have now (Cross my son named him/her) is great at being handled by my son and that's the most important part... So sorry for the long and drawn out rambling... I am sure some would not agree with how I handled some of the situations and going back I may have done things differently. But hindsight... SOOO.... PICS!!!
