newbie question??

I've read both newbie guides and I have a question which I feel like I should know,What lights stay on at night?I have a day light,basking light,and a uvb/uva light,I also bought a 24 hour timer and I realize that the CHE gets plugged into the night slot(I will be getting for winter),and I assume that the Day light gets placed in the day slot,but does the basking light and uvb/uva light stay on 24/7???Thank you so much

I'm a little confused by which lights you have. Daytime lights are usually either a mercury vapor bulb (which outputs both UVA and UVB) or a combination of basking light (Bright white light that produces lots of heat) and UVB (tube that produces a dim blueish light and outputs UVB). Either of those combinations should stay on all day but go off at night. There shouldn't be any visible light at night. You can use the ceramic heat emitter at night, but it's only necessary if the temperature in the tank gets below 65 at night.

You want to simulate a day/night cycle for your little one. All the white lights (basking bulb, UVB bulb and any extra lights) should be timed together for about 12hr on during the day. Does your timer have multiple outlets or just two? If your timer doesn't have enough outlets you can get a splitter.
