Hiya, I hope you dont mind me dropping in and joining the forum.
My name is Amy and I am 21yrs old, live in Derbyshire, England with my boyfriend and collection of animals.
After some consideration we have decided we would like to purchase a Bearded Dragon. But being new to this I would like to do my research first instead of jumping into the unknown which I believe would be wrong of me, and unfair on our new addition.
I was wondering if you could give me advice of where to start. Where to get information about the Bearded Dragon, the things I will need etc....
Just anything would be good to start me in the right direction.

have a look around and check out all the different forums on feeding and habitat especially. there are also a collection of great guides on the home page here and read up on all of that. if you have specific questions you can't find the answer too by reading the forum or the care sheets just drop a line in one of the forums I've found every one here to be very helpful and not as mean as some forums i've found. alot of the forums i've found have a lot of people that if you ask one question they flame you for not being well prepared and stupid and accuse you of pet abuse. but here every one is just so helpful, sometimes a little firm and if you don't take the good advice given they can get a little short. but you guys remind me of me and my boyfriend. we do ALOT of research before hand and it has paied off. i think we've given our beardie a great home. and i think you guys will make a good beardie owner as well

Hello and welcome Glad to see you're doing your research first, it'll save you a lot of time and money.

You'll want to decide whether to go with a baby or an adult. Babies are cute but they're also more work and eat a lot more live food. Adults don't have the same cute factor but are generally more laid back and definately less expensive to maintain. Either way, go with a reputable breeder and not a petshop if at all possible.

Definately read through the care sheets and post up any specific questions you have. I have a list I wrote up for the basics but I'm not on my own computer right now, so if you're interested just PM me and I'll send it to you next time I'm on.
