Hi all!
My name's Maeve and I just got my first beardie on Monday- I've already fallen completely in love. I work at a nice independent pet store where I work with the fish. We've recently started to expand our reptiles and I've enjoyed getting to know how to care for all the new critters. Of course, the whole staff fell for the beardies (we've only got babies at work), so when I had the opportunity to rescue an adult beardie from a customer (and a bad situation) I couldn't say no.
Rocky came from a very chilly cage and was only fed crickets, once a week or so
. He was owned by my friend's cousin, so my friend put the guilt on and convinced the owner to give the beardie to me. He's obviously very skinny, but he's a charmer, and always happy! He rode all the way home sitting on my shoulder while I drove and has proven to be very sociable. Right now he's asleep on my chest under a blanket. He's such a snuggle bug.
Anyway, I look forward to all the help I'm sure I'll want for my first beardie.
Cheers!
