New with first dragon

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post to say hi. I bought my first bearded dragon at the beginning of december. He was a surprise present from my husband. I'd looked into owning them but pretty much hadn't got the money to invest in one until now. Since he was a surprise I'm learning on my feet. I have no idea if he's a boy or a girl so I'm going with boy until I know otherwise. His name is Gorbash. Here is a pic. Apologies for the quality, it's taken on my tablet!



He's currently living in a 20G tank like this one : http://www.amazon.com/Reptihabitat-20long-Beard-Dragon-Starter/dp/B00B39ROIS/ref=sr_1_sc_7?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1388096066&sr=1-7-spell&keywords=zoomed+reptihabitat just with reptile carpet instead of sand.

I know I need to change the UVB for a tube one and the red heating lamp for a CHE. Can anyone tell me what wattage CHE I would need for the tank size? It can get quite cold at night at the moment so I've been leaving the red lamp on at night.

He's also shedding right now so hasn't been eating properly. I wrote a post on the Health board about it. This is his first shed so I want to make sure everything is normal, and if it's not, how to fix it!

Hes adorable! Nix the red light that disturbs his sleep. Beardies like to cool down at night so if your house does not get below 65 he'll be fine. I would turn off the uvb as the coil/ compact burn their eyes. Yes a reptisun 10.0 Tube is one of the best and it needs to be mounted in the tank.

I will try turning the red lamp off tonight as long as I can find where the digital thermometer went so I can monitor the tank temps. I know it can get quite cold in our house at night though.

So, temp last night dropped to 69F at the cool end of the tank where he likes to sleep and that was WITH the red heat lamp on so I'd definitely like to invest in a CHE for the winter time. Would a 60W do the trick, or would I be better off with a 100W?
