Hi,
I have a 7mon old bear die named Yoshi. I just swapped out her full-sized UVB bulb but the one I bought is a mini compact ZooMed 13watt 10.0. It’s about 9” above her hammock, shining through the screen. It doesn’t seem as bright as the old bulb and I’m concerned she won’t receive enough UVB.
Anyone have any experience with this? She’s my first beardie and I want to make sure she has everything she needs!

Hi there,

You're right, that bulb isn't an effective bulb at all.

You will want to switch to the long tube version type bulbs such as the reptisun 10.0 florescent or arcadia florescent.

I agree you need to ditch the 13 watt coil -- they are killers of dragons-- you need to get a 24" fixture w/ a reflector for a 40+ gallon tank - and a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 -- you options for that you can put it on top of screen w/ decor piece directly under it 8-10 inches or inside the tank w/ decor piece 12-15 inches under it

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
