One of the beardies looks a little bigger than the other one,the smaller one has some dark stress marks

they are the same size the picture doesn't give justice, and what exactly do the stress marks look like?

Well, stress marks are dark diamond like markings on their chin and underside. When they are not stressed they are an off white color on the bottom. Make sense? If you look at the "bigger" one he is normal in color but the other one is dark.

I agree with all the above suggestions...also you can get the temp gauges at Walmart for under $15 dollars...grab one for the cool side and one for the hot...they are made by Accurite. The Reptisun 10.0 or Reptiglo 8.0 are the better of the two bulbs and you can get them for half the price as the stores on Petmountain.com. Reptisun 5.0 is only strong enough if it is NOT going through mesh so if the bulb you have is a 5.0 you will need to change it out...don't you wish you could get all this info where you buy them? Congrats on your babies!

Yeah basically they tell you to get everything you dont want like...repti/cali-sand, night lights, weak bulbs ect. :roll:

I understand it's just that he's had the dark pattern on his underside even when i looked at him in the store...he must lead a pretty stressfull life :?

Well i shouldn't be surprised, but good call on the underbelly. I just got home with their crickets(Xerces didn't eat much last time i fed them)and they both powned about 5 crickets a piece. Now the underbellies are both white. Thanks again! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I am so glad to hear that! He was probably stressing at the pet store because of the heating and he probably did not want to be in a tank with a bunch of other beardies. Now, he probably has more room to run around and has the right heating so he wont stress as much.

Today i'm headin up to home depot to get my tiles and from there my new gages and 10.0 repti-sun. Only question i have is how do people get their tiles fitted so perfectly i tried to measure but i still dont think it will be a perfect fit, and suggestions? :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

well i bought two slates 16x16, and as you can see i left the sand underneath and a small outline around. If at any point i catch them eating the sand i will take action but they do not lick while scaling the side of the tank(usually more interested in their reflections). Next up...gages and UVB bulb!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I have multi colored slate tiles. I wish they had the tiles you have there, I would have definately purchased those! haha
