New to Town

Hey All! Just found the forums here and thought I'd introduce myself and my beardie!

This here is Thora (Thor for short! Thought it was a male when we got her.)
I got her back in Feb from PetsDumb. I walked in one day with my friend who had her dog, and I went over to the reptiles. I recently had just come back from Air Force Training and had gotten my own place so I needed some company. I had thought about a dog, but when I saw the reptiles, my heart went out to this little guy. He was the only beardie in the cage (Feb in Iowa, we don't have many shipped to us due to cold) and he was looking pretty rough. I talked with an associate (who now I realize knew nothing) about why it looked so scared. Associate said traveling trauma. Turns out, they had no lighting in the cage, so the little guy was basically freezing. I quickly decided to pick him up. I have a small aquarium I kept him in for a couple days and got him to a lot better health then got him a bigger cage. Long story short, he grew SUPER FAST and then I realized it was a she! So now she is just as happy as can be!

I'm amazed at the stuff that some pet store employees will tell folks. If you're ignorant of the actual facts, then leave me be. And, if I tell you to leave me be, then leave me be. I don't like being mauled by a dozen pet store employees closing in to push their products. :roll:
