New to this and need help!!!

I've had Nim for three months. How long have you had Zoey? I know you told me but I forgot too.

Oh wow, I didn't think you had Nim that long! I've had Zoey for 3 weeks, 2 days, and I could probably figure out how many hours too if you really want to know. But who's counting? lol :wink:

Hey everyone! I have missed you guys I won't lie! I'm sorry I haven't been around I just got a job and started college so it is all a little over whelming right now! I think it is so odd so many beardies are shedding at the same time, Rigs is loosing bits and pieces slowly too, not all at once like his first shed. Has Zoey shed yet?

LOL, my Nim is shedding his nose. And just the nose. He had already shed his legs and tail, the nose usually goes with those. I guess his nose was late, LOL.

Hey stranger!!! Zoey has been shedding the past few days. Her entire belly and back came off in one big piece (I think she rubbed it on her little plant) but the tail is in day 2 and she is getting back to normal, but still not 100%. She didn't eat any crickets yesterday, just the baby food I pushed (I think she just ate it to humor me. I get that alot.), this morning no crickets so I gave her baby food again. This time she was eating it so fast she was smacking her little gums. It was so cute. Then this afternoon I had her out running around and I put the cricket keeper in front of her. She was trying to eat them through the plastic, so I took them out, one at a time and she ate 7 or 8. It's not her usual amount, but it's something.

Is Rigs eating? Poor guy, having to do it one little piece at a time.

Obviously. But now my boy has an itchy nose. I saw him scratching it a few days ago.

Zoey has been scratching her face against everything too. Last night I watched her scratching her face against the glass like a cat. I feel so bad for her. Thing is, I can't see where she is shedding except on her chin and with the exception of the Q-tip I use to clean around her mouth and her chin, I can't do anything for her.

Gosh I have been so busy working and school full time! Whew! Good thing my man has stepped up and helps me out so much taking care of Rigs when I work late or too early, making sure he is asleep and up at the right times. I don't know if I have told you guys but we have been sleeping with Rigs every night! He is such a cutie we hold him until he is tired and then we put him in his bed (box). Anyways my man has been so sweet as to have him in bed waiting for me <3 I guess they are both trained but I am so smitten with them both :love10:
Rigs is STILL shedding his back did go in one piece after little flakes had chipped off, but poor guy still has patches peeling right now and has not been as happy for a few days. At least he never seems to stop eating during shedding (or ever for that matter) I would go into a panic! Hahaha Has Zoey started eating yet?

She hasn't been eating right for days now. She's still eating some, but not quite to the point of 60 plus crickets a day yet. But I've been giving her baby food to make up for lack of crickets (now she is spoiled and wants both!! I don't mean one and then the other, I mean she likes her crickets dipped in baby food, one at a time!!!!). I've figured out she has eye problems...depth perception, only sees food if it's big and sometimes I still have to wave it in front of both eyes (I will hold a cricket in front of her with the tongs and it will take her 5 or 6 times to stick out her tongue before she actually get it, even though it's still and right on front of her.); one eye will be looking up or straight ahead, the other down or back; walking into things, etc.

I have started a thread for her in Beardie Tales (link below) and I add lots of pics. I try to get a few pics in every day. The eye thing might be a problem for other people, but I don't even see it as a flaw, it's just part of her personality. If I had another healthy beardie first it might bother me, but I don't know it any other way, just like her. (Zoey asks that no one feel sorry for her. Just wanted to put that out there. )

If you get some time (which I know you don't have much of!!), feel free to see what Zoey has been up to. You are very lucky your husband helps with Rigs!! That is so cute that you guys cuddle with him at night. I do the same thing...after bath, I burrito her and put her inside my hoodie (usually between 9:30-10:30, depending on when I have to go to bed) and sometimes she will be there until 1 AM or later. lol I kind of forget she's there...before I burrito her for the night, I use the hair dryer to warm (NOT HOT!!) her blankie and she is INSTANTLY asleep. lol Seriously, as soon as it touches her her eyes close and I swear I can hear her say, "Ahhhhhhh". lol Once it gets cold here, my husband doesn't know yet, but she will be sleeping in our room. lol Once she is burritoed, she is out until morning. I could put her on my night stand and she wouldn't even peek her head out!! LOL

Hahaha they are out like rocks! Once we put Rigs in his bed box he could be moved to Iceland before he would wake up and realize where he was. I will check it out here in a second.
