Hello all, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself and my four beardies. The first beardie I own was purchased on 06/21/10. My girlfriend and I rescued him from a local pet shop. He was a triple-amputee, and a runt. We saw him in a clearance tank which held all of the beardies that had tail nips, missing toes, and even missing feet and limbs. He was just laying in the back of the tank, and he looked extremely stressed out, and sort of malnourished. From the very instant we laid eyes on him, we knew we had to take him home to give him a chance at a better life. We named him Natsu, which means Summer Joy in japanese, according to him being adopted on the first day of summer, and the joy he will bring us
We ended up coming back to the pet shop the next day, and saw a very colorful baby in the non-clearance tank. Like Natsu, he was also a runt. He was soaking in his water bowl, away from the other, much bigger dragons. After much debate, we decided that he would make a wonderful addition to our 3 other beardies. We took him home despite not having much money at the time. We couldn't resist! Once he was in the car, we opened up the little paper bag he was in. The moment the bag was open, his little head popped out the top! He was very active, and seemed very happy to be out of there. It took a few days for a good name to stick, but we ended up choosing Ziggy, since he darts around so fast, and since he's such a little firecracker.
I also have 2 sub-adult bearded dragons, Ruki and Lotan, which you may have seen around the forum from Rukii, my girlfriend.
