New tank suggestions <<

Scored a National Geographic 67 Gallon Tank for $100 off retail price . It's pretty big so I could use some help for the set up to make sure I get good temps and everything is ok.

Any suggestions on how to set it up for my first beardie ?
It's being assembled right now before I go buy everything else I need for it but it does have a side where you can run cords through to connect stuff inside and it has front opening doors along with vented sides .

Make sure you have some driftwood or something that it can climb to get closer to the bulb. Mount the UVB tube and basking light inside the tank.

Think about what kind of substrate you want first. Are you going to use tile, paper, shelf liner? You're going to have to clean it regularly.

Mine loves her hammock, and it allows for a spot close to the basking light for her high temps.

I personally love the home made structures that offer multiple basking levels and hides. You can make your own background to suit the enclosure. My terrarium is 60 gallons so I have a lot of height instead of length that I take advantage of. I have a basket I turned upside down that she hides in and then can climb all around on.

I plan on getting some tile cut to use at substrate and some driftwood that'll fit nicely across the tank.

How would I be able to mount the basking light inside though ? I know about the fixture for the reptisun and the command hooks just not the basking since it's a different kind of bulb (household blurb not fluorescent tube).

Looks practical , i would prefer to mount it inside somehow though since I will have the hood in place . Going to do some digging around and see if I can find a way.

Mine came with stickies so it's actually mounted on the tank.

Oh so it's mounted outside the tank or is the actual bulb inside ?

Okay so I'm assuming you don't have a lid on yours ?
Yeah , imma look around to see if I can set it up so the bulb is inside but with the lid on it also if not I'll probably buy the type you have .

I have a lid but I don't use it much as its harder to get her out. It hangs just inside the tank. If I have the lid on I tale it up a little and increase turn up the dimmer switch to increase the heat to proper Temps.

Yeah im just going to be putting the lid on and leaving it on since I can open it from the front . So I'm thinking maybe a fixture for a household bulb that I can somehow stick to the inside of the tank ? Needa find something like that that I can attach is all .

can't you use one of the small clamp lights? it should work with a household bulb

Yeah I'm going to look for a small one that I can clamp inside somehow . I work at Walmart so I should be able to find something that'll work .
