I gave her a second 10ml this evening. She was slightly more cooperative and right now she's resting on me.

We'll do it again tomorrow and hopefully she'll start realizing that it's good stuff.

Hello,

That is such a shame she was so neglected, it makes me so mad!
I know it is hard on you both to do assisted feeding but since she did have some fight left in her that is a good sign. :D
It sounds like you are doing everything possible for Priscilla & I am sure that she greatly appreciates all of your efforts.
Keep us posted on her progress.

That's great, glad to hear it. :) She really needs the hydration but was just too weak + sick to even eat or drink so this will really help her. Twice a day should be good, just make sure the second feeding isn't too late. But so far so good !

Tracie, at least she doesn't stay mad at me after the feedings. She still lets me hold her after.

AHBD, I'll make sure I don't feed her too late.

She seems a little tiny bit perkier today. She's actually moving her head and looking around a little. This is the first day I've seen that.

How often should I put the honey on her injuries/sores?

She's walking around! She's very weak and wobbly, but she's moving around her tank!

Hey ! Fantastic ! :) Poor lil' girl, she is trying to hang on .

I think the honey can be put on every other day, that should be fine, even every 3 days.

Priscilla is doing a little bit better and she's starting to look better, as well. She's not as badly dehydrated and it's showing in her skin on her body. She's still fighting me when I feed her but it seems she doesn't hate it as much, or maybe I'm just getting better at it. She spent the evening on my shoulder and resisted many attempts to move her so I left her there. :)

I do have a question. She pooed twice in her bath today and it seemed she had a hard time with the second one. The first one looked normal as far as urates and solids but the second one was odd. I didn't think to take a picture because I had a wet beardie and I was changing out her bath water. Anyway, no urates which I guess should be expected, and it was really dark and when I looked closer it smelled like rotten food and seemed to have a lot of dirt in it. Her first one looked the same, but it went down the drain before I could check it closer. I'm guessing that whatever she was able to get to eat wasn't digesting properly because she didn't have the right heat. Now that she's getting the proper heat, light, moisture how long will it be before I can expect all of that dirt to make it through her system?

Yeah it sounds like her system is starting to kick back into a normal gear and is processing the new food you're offering and getting rid of the garbage that was sitting in there before. Some of it may have been hard which would cause the straining. It may take a bit more time for everything to work it's way out but if you stay with relatively soft foods it should help.

I'll be sticking with soft foods for a while just because she's in such bad shape and I don't want to tax her system. Once I see that she's starting to act more normal and look better I'll start to slowly add some solid foods in.

I know it's going to take quite a bit of time before she's healthy but I'm patient. Thankfully, I do have a bit of experience nursing dragons because of Stimpy so I know how slow the process is. However, I celebrate every little improvement. :)

Hello,

Wow, it sounds like she is doing pretty well then, taking her fluids, etc for you. It seems like her system is starting to work as well, but it will be slow.
Definitely take your time in introducing solid foods to her just to make sure her body can digest properly. She has been malnourished for awhile. Bless her, she has spirit for sure!
You can definitely use the honey daily for her, too.

Keep us posted on her.

I'm a little worried now and going to take Priscilla to the vet on Friday, I think. She's looking pretty dehydrated again, and she's been pooping a lot. Since the other day when she had a hard time and had the bad poo she's been going twice a day. She's also coughing a little bit, which is what really concerns me. I really don't know that she can fight off any illness based on her condition.

She's walking around more and she's not unsteady on her feet so she's clearly getting some nutrition from the syringe feeding, so that's good. I think I'm going to start mixing a little more water in her afternoon feeding and keep her morning feeding the same.

Hello,

Oh poor thing. I hope she hasn't gotten a respiratory infection now, her immune system probably isn't real strong. I hope the vet visit goes well. He can get more fluids into her if she is getting too dehydrated. Are you keeping her tank around 80 overnight to help with her immune system?
At least she seems to be more energetic & has steadied on her feet more. I am sure she is enjoying the extra food now also.

Let us know how she is doing.

I hope it goes well, too. Her tank is probably being kept at about 75 - 77 degrees at night. How would I warm her tank without leaving the lights on? I have some kind of under tank heater that I used when I was trying to grow Phoenix worms but I'm not sure how to use something like that for a beardie.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
