This is the first time Stompy set foot on his new tile. The picture says it all :laughhard:

I was crying from laughing so hard when i put him down on the tile and he did this.

Its left over tile from my boyfriends parents. I wanted to use the back side of them becuase the front was glazed. It actually looks way better that i thought it would

Yup Stompy would rather disregard my hard work of cleaning the tile and putting them all in there and pout in his tree.

too bad i didnt have enough left for skyler! ill have to buy her some nicer ones. Maybe SHE will appreciate them! :lol:

oh a side note that ive been wondering about is superworms. Do you think that hes ready for them? the Phoenix worm store wont ship me worms until the weather warms up. I went to the pet store and they only had 100 crickets left so i bought superworms too. I know that 100 is only going to last me a few days so i fed stompy 3 Supers today and 2 yesterday. I checked out his poop today and it just had a left over undigested PW, i dont want to give him too many supers and make him impacted he chews them up good but im not going to feed him more than 3 until i see what his poop looks like tomarrow (if he does poop)

As for supers I think the general oppinion is that your dragon should be around 13" before you start feeding them.
Stompy looks a little teeny for supers.

Thanks for the advice on the supers. Im going to go measure him now and weigh him. The supers are about the LENGTH of his head instead of the WIDTH so ill probably end up cutting them in half (would that work?) or throwing them out. I wish they would ship me the PWs its raining here im not sure why they said it would be below freezing temps. ANNNDDDD of course the pet store is still out of crix >.>

The supers you buy at the pet store are probably way too big. I would suggest going to http://www.reptilefood.com. You can order supers there that should be small enough. They are technically called zophobas. The site will say they only have large. This usually isn't the case. Use the Live Chat feature (at the top right or under the support area) and ask if they have any small supers. They only advertise large because zoos and pet stores clear out their inventory of the smaller sizes too fast. The small size is 1 inch or shorter and very skinny. I have been feeding my girl these at the advice of her breeder since I first got her at around 7 inches long. They will only ship you 1,000 count, which seems like a ton, but I keep them in a small tupper ware about 8-10 inches long and 5 inches wide with holes in the top with the Mealworm Bedding you can also order from them and they stay the same size and live a long time. **I am obviously not an expert so other people may have a different opinion/experience which I totally respect, but this is just my advice**

OMG that was too funny.That pic is priceless thanks for posting.In regards to the Supers the general recommendation is 16 inches or longer but I was wait until at least 17 inches just to be safe.To the poster who asked about giant mealies verses supers they are actually two different species of insect.The nutritional and chitin content are very different.Mealies are all chitin and no nutrition.

Dont panic its just a safety protocal.Truthfully as long as his husbandry is ok he will be fine.How many did you buy?How big are they?

I only bought 25 of them so its not a HUGE waste. They are pretty big. Id say inch and a half. He didnt poop for 2 days after i first fed him some but FINNALY today he pooped in his bath so im glad I didnt get him impacted ah man i was panicking today. His poop looked good. ill probably just throw them out. or feed him one a day lol. I guess im going to have to find a good alternative to PWs since they wont ship them to me becuase of the weather. Probably will b e like that for another couple months. I orderd a small amount of small silk worms and butterworms to see if they like those. hopefully they can make the trip.

And as for the tile, its not working out that great lol because when he poops on it it seems to absorb into the tile and even after i bleached the tile I could still see a bit of brown. Ill get some of the right tile soon. Is slate the best kind?

I like slate the best personally but its really just a matter of preference.As for the supres since he had a hard time pooping I would just chuck them and wait until Stompy is big enough.I am sure he will LOVE the butters they all do.I am actually picking up a tray on Thursday.My guys have not had them in a while and Phoenix never has so their should be some pretty happy beardies Thursday night

That is a funny picture. I knew you would have trouble keeping the tiles clean by using bottom up. It's a shame it didn't work though.

I was eagerly waiting for the info on the supers too, LOL I could never find the small ones.
