Hi everyone

am HOPING to get my first beardie tomorrow! have been reading up on them for awhile now, have been in the market for a new pet and from what i have read and heard they make great pets my co-workers roommate has one, and she loves him to death. kind of nervous, never having one before. am really glad i found this board, have been sifting thru the posts and everyone seems really really kind and helpful! am looking forward to getting to know y'all, and learning from everyone! one question i have right off the bat is if it is ok to place their tank in a window to get sunlight? i was reading about how they should get so many hours of light a day, etc., my main thing is i go to work very early....i leave the house at 5:30 am, and generally get home a little after 2pm. am wondering how i should work the lighting for the new little one? and also the feeding? i did get and bookmark the link for the food chart, which will be a tremendous help! anyhow, i will definitely have ?'s lol keeping my fingers crossed they are not sold out tomorrow morning when i go!!

If it's a glass tank, do not place it by the window. It will get way TOO hot because the glass will trap the heat. A really good option that's made it way easier for me is a timer. You just plug your lights into the timer, and put in the times you want it to come on and go off and it does it all itself!

The feeding, I don't really have the authority to answer about (because I'm still re-learning all of that stuff again). But crickets and staple veggies are always good.
