Hi all. Just a post to say hello and introduce myself (Mike) partner Pauline and Merlin and Guinevere my two new buddies. I am a first time beardie keeper. I have a lot of trepidation and concerns but looking though this site I have already learned a lot. The Viv is a 4ft one and I have installed a red light, heater and basking lamp and a fluorescant tube running the full length.
I am a little concerned at feeding but again experience will come. Merlin is just over a year old and gwen is just under a year, they have been here 5 days and seem to be settling in nicely and already are fasinating to watch their antics. She is a total lunatic rushing around everywhere climbing the vines but Merlin is much more laid back just watching with an air of the much put upon Male.
I will be using this site a lot and look forward to meeting many of you online.

get a uvb tube fluorecent and uvb are different get a repti sun 10.0, and also they dont need a red light . They can see the red ligth

Sorry maybe I should have been slightly clearer, I have the correct tube and the red light is installed only to be used if I have reason to watch them at night, cant imagine why but its a little boots and braces if you like. Cheers for the thought though any suggestions will be appreciated.

Why are you concerned with feeding?

Oh nothing serious,just what and when to feed different foods, looking around the site there are lots of live feed and veg type that are not avalliable here in Ireland. Fresh cabbage seems to be going down well, cricks seem to be doing more walking around than being eaten and the constant advice regards meal worms seems to be not to many but my two guys absolutely love them and clear them from the bowl in minutes. As I said in my earlier post though with good advice and time to build experience I am sure I will do ok.

I'm not sure how to help with the difference in greens. I hope that someone here has an idea of what is good for you to get in Ireland. Do you have access to other dark leafy greens?
