So I purchased Mega ray bulbs and have just used them for 2 days so far. While waiting for the bulbs my beardie was out of UV for a whole month and half... I did however let him bathe in the sun for half an hour 3 times a week or so... He was so lazy without his uv and kept trying to sleep earlier than usual.

Now that he has his lights, he seems a lil perkier, but still not so active. He is active when out of his viv though, but is it normal that he isn't so active? Will the UV eventually perk him up?

At the moment Iv'e noticed him sitting on his rock and basking under his 100watts UVB lamp which is 14 inches away from him... However his eyes are closing. He keeps opening and closing his eyes... WHAT IS THAT? Should I worry?

Is Mega ray safe?
I can't get reptisun coz it is only american voltages.

I heard mega ray had their problems, but not anymore... And that their lights helped so many reptiles.

I'm worried, help?

Is *he* 14" away or is the basking spot 14" away? This is a very important detail. I have a new megaray and have found that the safest bet is to make sure that the the bulb is no closer than 16" away from the dragon itself.

The minimum recommended distance of 14" is aimed more at major sun worshipers like a uromastyx. Beardeds aren't quite the sun worshipers like uros.

His head is exaclty 14 inches away from the bulb. I'm transferring him to his much bigger viv, then the light will be much further. But I will have to wait for a week or so, is that okay?

Ehh...I would err on the side of caution and say, no. A temporary solution would be to lower or remove the any branches or rocks he has to increase the distance between him and the bulb. They don't mind basking on the ground.

I removed everything, and it is now 17 inches... However he basks on wooden log on the left side of his tank with a different bulb, just for heat as the UV bulb(which is on the right side of the tank) can't keep him warm enough... The two bulbs are 10 inches apart, will he still be harmed?

Point the second bulb to the same basking area of the megaray so he can get heat+uv at the same time.
If you want you can create a second basking point for him with no uv, so he can choose whether he wants uv or not.

He can get off his basking log when he wants more UV, but I think he can still manage to get some this way too.

Thanks :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
