Hello all! I just finished setting up a temperary enclosure for my boyfriend's new beared dragon. BF works at a pet store and this beardy was recently seperated from the others. Apparently no one thought he would make it through the night - he did and so he went to the vet the next day. The comments on the sheet from the vet says "Possible sepsis and neck injury. Dehydration." He's on Baytril right now. The thing of it is, even if he recovers, the store won't sell him. So, they decided to offer him for adoption to any employee that would take him. Otherwise, they were going to euthanize him. My BF is madly in love with the dragons so he jumped at the offer. So, now we have a little dragon.
We bought the basics yesterday and today and brought him home today. He needs his medication and bath later. I was told for his dehydration to soak him for 15 minutes in lukewarm water, twice a day. I don't know his exact inches, I'd say he's about the size of a crayon (excluding his tail. with tail, the length of a pencil maybe?) We don't know if he'll make it, but we have our fingers crossed. Neither of us have ever had a dragon but we didn't want him put down if he could be saved. Sooooo here's hoping he makes it! He's eating on his own again today, so at least that's something good.
