New Here & New Beardie

Hi all, I've been hiding in the background here for quite sometime as I've been doing my research into getting my first bearded dragon. Today was the day and have had quite an awesome time getting little Hue Jackman settled into his new home. He's just about 5 months old, has some pretty vibrant reds and seems to be just starting a tail shed.

Here are some pics of the new lil guy, I've wanted one forever and so happy I finally took the plunge. You'll be hopefully seeing me around the forums more often, pleasure to meet you all!

Beautiful dragon! Congrats. I currently own two bearded dragons. A 6 year old male and a 3 year old female. If you check out some of my posts, or actually the thread under skinny dragon, I rescued the six year old. Can I have pictures and details on your setup. Especially lighting and feeding. That is a REALLY handsome dragon!!! Love that red coloring!!

I'll post some pics once I have his viv fully setup. He's in a 40g breeder, one 160w mercury vapor lamp, he's on sand which I know is a hot button issue... However the breeder we got him from keeps all of his dragons on sand (and by no means is he a novice), so we used the same substrate he was on in the shop... at least for now. He's had one big healthy stool each day we've had him. He's eating collard greens as the base of his veggie diet, carrots, peas, and green beans are playing a role a few times a week and some fruit as well. Last night he went to town on about 12 crickets (doing every other day in cal powder).

I'm excited to watch the lil guy grow! Viv pics up by tonight!

REALLY NICE!!!! And that light gives off uvb? It looks like a high wattage. I like that set up...

It's a 160w Mercury vapor lamp from exoterra. Provides heat for the basking spot as well as UVB.
