New enclosure heating isuuse

My new enclosure has a built in platform that is 12 inches from the uvb bulb. But it’s creating the basking bulb to be to hot. The platform is over 110 degrees. I heard that you can use regular house bulbs as basking bulbs. Is this true?

Yeah I use a PAR38 halogen flood light. It works well for basking. They dim pretty well too so you can hook it to a dimming thermostat or lamp dimmer to fine tune the output if you need to.
