New Enclosure for Ace!!

what do you guys think?... went from a 10 gallon tank to this 36x16x18...

question i have is, should i add more lighting?... i have a 100w ZooMed Repti Bask for his basking spot and it gets to roughly 98 degrees... i mounted the the 18" ReptiSun 10.0 inside the tank for better UVB exposure... the cool side goes to about 72 degrees... he is eating normally and seems to have adapted to his new home in less than a couple of hours...

and then there is the topic of adding more decorations and things for him to climb all around on, do you guys know where i can buy some decently sized decorations?... large hides and caves he can enjoy?...

Looks great! I would add a low watt household bulb to up your basking and cool side a little. Maybe just a 40 or 60 watt will add more light because the brighter the better, they love bright and the brightness protects their eyes from UVB, and your basking can go up to 100-105 and your cool side is a little low, try 78-80 with a low watt bulb. If you have another dome, you probably have a bulb laying around, if not you could try a normal 100watt clear house bulb since I used the zoomed one before and it puts off more of a beam of light where a house bulb puts off more light throughout the tank. Just a thought!

well i have a smaller dome with a 50w ZooMed Repti Bask bulb i used on his old tank, do you think if i add that and place it near the middle it will make everything a bit better?... i am going to give it a try and let you know... and THANK you for those web pages... much appreciated!

You can definetly try it, just monitor the temps because sometimes those bulbs can put off a lot of heat, but never hurts to try. If you want more light some people use the energy saver bulbs since they put off no heat, but I use just a fluorescent t5 undercounter fixture since its long and lights up the whole cage without adding heat.
