hi
just taken over the care of two bearded dragons one is a girl and roughly aged six she is 19 inch long from tip of nose to tip of tail and weighs 415 grams . The other one is gizzy who is a male he is roughly 20months he is a big boy who is 24 inch from tip of nose to tip of tail he does not seem fat but he weighs 900 grams he seems really healthy happy to be handled. He does not eat anymore than her has 8-10 locusts and a few Mario worms a day and some greens and fruit.
does he need to go on a diet he is not over active when he comes out of his viv but is starting to gain confidence and run around a bit more. first time dragon owners and advice would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum! Do they have their own enclosures? If not I would provide separate enclosures for them, that's important.

As far as diet goes, since they're adults I'd provide bugs only every couple of days and try to get them mainly on salads. A nice big salad every day should take up about 80% of their overall diet. Try to vary the offerings based on what you can find at the store that looks fresh. This is a good list to reference for some ideas http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html It may take a bit of patience if they aren't used to salads but it's what they should be on primarily at this point.

OK great. Yeah it can take a while with the greens but you may be able to rotate in something that they enjoy. They're both big enough to not need a ton of food so if you leave a nice salad for them every day and just do that for a week or two they'll likely dig in. Try offering some different options to try and get their interest first though. Sometimes they like hand feeding or if you pick up and drop the greens into the dish to create some movement too so that's worth a shot as well.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
