New BeeBee

My new BeeBee arrived this morning. She hasn't eaten anything yet. I did get her to drink some water off a dropper. I put a few crickets in the container with her. I have her in big tupper wear storage container until the viv I odered arrives. I have a basking light set up and the temp is 112 under light and 82 on the other end. I have paper towel for a sub. and a log to climb on. I am going to take the crickets out soon....should I just try again in the am?

Congrats on your new baby. Its very stressful for them when they get to their new homes. It's not un common for them to not eat at first. You should still offer it several times a day, so that when your baby is ready it has the chance to get it's fill. Be sure not to leave the crickets in tub with your baby. If he doesn't eat in 10-15 mins then take them out. Im sure someone else will be on here shortly to advise you further on your new babe.

Stupid question

How do you get the crickets out?

You could scoop them out with a cup or you could take out your baby and dump them out them put your baby back in.

I just use tweezers and pick them out with them, it can take time though but you need to make sure you get them all out.

She ate like a CHAMP!

All but 2 of the bag I bought. I also got a cricket keeper....comes with a dark tube....was easy to scoop up the ones she left.

I am headed to the pet store for more. I also got mustard greens I am gonna offer to her a little later.

She is happily basking and digesting now.
