I've just recently got a 18 month old male beards called Bobby, but he's doing a few things im not sure are normal? When I was in my room this morning he was standing I the corner sort of digging and scraping at his tank? And when I turn his lights on, for 12-14 hours I read, personally I have them on 7am to to 7pm but when I go to see him I the morning he's cold? But seems fine apart from that, is any of this to worry about?

Sometimes they dig just to dig. Sometimes females will dig when they need to lay eggs. Sometimes they dig to burrow as part of instinct when brumation kicks in during the cooler months. I think that may be the case here and is normal. I would put down some strips of fleece or other soft, non-looped (don't want to get nails stuck) material for him to dig around in a bit and burrow/nest as he wishes.

The lighting schedule sounds fine to me. The cold in the morning is also normal. It can take them a while to warm up. They often act grumpy in the morning as well. I figured my boys were just mirroring my personality but it seems to be pretty common among dragons and nothing to worry about =)

I was gifted 2 babies 1 male 1 female. I also don't know what's right or wrong I've been doing research. So I have a few questions.
• how many hrs per day must the light be on?
I have 2 diff bulbs which do I use uvb or basking light?
• they ate ok yest but today they didn't eat at all I through in some worms and they wouldn't eat them I tried feeding them by dangling them infront and nothing they seem hungry I've caught them picking and the cage and there tongues out.
• must I keep water in the tank at all times?
• they alternate with scratching the glass and there color changes frequestly.
I've always wanted bearded dragons but I never did my research thinking I wouldn't be buying myself them anytime so when I found out they were going to be gifted to me I accepted on a whim I just hope I didn't make a mistake by doing so. I don't want anything to go wrong with them.
Thanks to whoever took the time to read and answer this

You want to leave the basking light (heat and bright white light) on at the same time as the UVB (tube style is best without anything between the basking area and the light). I set a timer depending on my schedule but about 12 hrs give or take a couple is fine. You want to have separate enclosure for them because they will likely hurt eachother and compete for resources in the same enclosure. You can keep a water dish in the enclosure. Otherwise I suggest offering supplemental water by dropping some on their noses to lick up or putting them in a warm shallow bath so they can drink if they want to. They get most of their hydration from their food though. If they are scratching the glass they may see their reflections or they may want out and not understand the clear barrier. You may want to try putting paper up on 3 sides of the tank. I would also double check temperatures with an accurate thermometer and ensure they have a proper gradient (100-110 basking area, 75-80 cool side). I suggest reading further info in the Care Sheet article and the Newbies Guides to the right. If you have further questions or would like us to check out your current setup, please start a new thread with photos and information about your current setup. We'll be glad to go through it and check for any possible issues.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
