I have a almost 10 week old dragon and I’ve kinda been winging it when it comes time to feed her! I got 1/2” crickets shipped to me, so based on that how many and how often should she have? Is there a way to tell she’s hungry? At first she hardly ate but now that she’s been with me a week she completed her first shed and ate approx 30 crickets at once yesterday plus 10 more before bed. I’m also getting mixed reviews on giving her worms and veggies at this stage also. I’m doing my best from what I’ve been reading but I want to make sure she’s getting the best care ?

I'm a newbie too but from what I can tell (old forum topics and other info sources), there is no set food amount...basically you feed your beardie over a 10-15 min stretch and let them eat as much as they want until they lose interest. Juveniles typically have less interest in greens but always best to at least make them available....mine nibbled some yesterday (Kale) for the first time since getting him / her (2 weeks ago).

Food / eating habits do seem to be a bit hit / miss - I was worried I was giving him crickets that were a little too big but have now replaced with smaller ones. He ate 15-20 (larger ones) on Sunday but then only had 2-3 (new smaller ones) yesterday and was not overly interested this morning (2 so far).....he shed a few days ago (and was off his food about that time too) but is pretty regular (in the restroom dept!) which I'm relieved about as was worried about the large crickets and possibly giving him a blockage.

There does seem to be a lot to think about and I'm similar to you too.....just want to make sure I'm doing what's right for him and giving the best possible quality of life.

Yeah that's right. Their appetites fluctuate over time so sometimes they won't be hungry and other times they'll eat a ton. There isn't a set amount they should eat but offering them all they want in about a 10 minute window a couple few times a day is the best way to go in general.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
