I just arrived home from repticon with to beardies - believed to be one male, one female.
i've read up quite a lot before making this decision, they are currently in a 20 gallon tank with both a basking and uvb light.
i got them some of the dragon dried food that you add water to and some crickets, both babies have a healthy appetite.
are there any need-to-knows that general care sheets don't give?
i wanna make sure i've got my bases covered..

Welcome to the world of beardies! It's like a black hole from which there is no escape but most of us wouldn't have it any other way!!! LOL

There are tons of resources on here for caring for beardies...lots of opinions and lots of things that people have learned by trial and error--and unfortunately the hard way too! One thing that you need to know up front is that beardies are solitary animals and tend to do better when kept alone. With a male female pairing there is the risk of over breeding, if they are from the same clutch of in-breeding, and of one or both of the beardies getting seriously injured from biting/fighting. So you'll want to work on getting them separated as soon as you can.

Hmmmm...helpful hints? Make sure you have your calcium supplement and multivitamin and use them. Veggies--start introducing them right away. www.beautifuldragons.com is a fabulous resource that tells what foods are good for them as well as tons of other useful stuff. I make sure that I give a good soak every other day at least and I always make sure there is fresh water in the enclosure.

I can't wait to see pictures of your new babies and of course to know what their names are! Enjoy them...they're tons of fun!!!

here's riley

and terri

and here's the both of them.

i have a friend who has two adult beardies in the same habitat, i think they are male/female, i'm not sure. but they tell me that they get along just fine. we got them from separate sellers, so there is a slim possibility for inbreeding.

There a lot of care sheets around this site. The search is not too shabby. As for feeding charts I think most people here agree to
beautiful dragons. oh and btw welcome to the forum! You will learn tons of stuff. Although, everyone one here has conflicting ideas and
everyone has a different way of looking after their dragons. It is all about what works for you and dragon! I can't wait to hear more about your
new dragons!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
